Kylie Sharp was born on July 26, 1991. She trained at Olympus Gymnastics in Utah. She graduated from high school in 2009.

In 2003, Kylie competed level eight. She finished first on beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed eleventh all-around. Kylie moved up to level nine in 2004. She finished third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished eighth all-around. She competed at Westerns. In 2005, Kylie finished third all-around at the California Classic. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished sixth all-around. Kylie placed fourth on vault and tenth on floor at Westerns. She finished 19th all-around.

Kylie began competing level ten in 2006. She won vault at the Long Beach Open. At the State Championships, she won the all-around title. She finished third on vault and eighth all-around at Regionals. In 2007, Kylie finished first all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished ninth all-around. Kylie finished first all-around at the 2008 Hard Rock Invitational. She won all five gold medals at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished fifth all-around. Kylie competed at JO Nationals. In 2009, Kylie finished second on beam at the Crystal Cup.

As a freshman at Washington, Kylie competed on vault against Nebraska. She also competed on vault against Arizona State, Utah and UCLA.
