Haleigh Shepard was born on June 9, 1995. She trained at USA Elite until December of 2004. She then moved to Gymstars Modesto. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2001, Haleigh began competing. She competed level four at the Halloween meet at Woodlands Gymnastics Academy. She continued competing level four in 2002. She won vault and the all-around at the Salute to Gymnastics Greats meet. She won vault and floor at the September Spectacular. She won vault, beam and the all-around at the Tumble in the Jungle meet. In the spring of 2003, Haleigh won beam and the all-around at the Ice Breaker meet. She placed third all-around. Haleigh began competing level five in the fall. She finished first on beam at the Raisin Fest. She won the all-around at the Zone Championships. At the State Championships, she placed in the top twenty. In 2004, Haleigh placed second on vault at the Flips USA Invitational. In the fall, she finished third all-around at the Jack-O-Lantern meet. She finished second at the Zone Championships. At the State Championships, Haleigh placed fifth all-around. She won a silver medal on beam.

Two months later, Haleigh competed level six. She finished in the top ten at the Flips USA Invitational and Golden State Classic. She won vault at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Haleigh then moved up to level seven. She finished tenth all-around at the State Championships. She continued competing level seven in 2006. She finished third on beam at the Flips USA Invitational. She placed third all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. Haleigh won the all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She placed second at the Mardi Gras Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed first on bars and in the all-around.

Haleigh moved up to level eight for the 2007 season. She finished in the top ten at the Golden State Classic and Gold Country Invitational. She won bars at the Roseville Invitational and Byers Invitational. At the State Championships, she won bars and placed third all-around. Haleigh finished second on floor and ninth all-around at Regionals. She continued competing level eight in 2008. She won bars at the Golden Gate Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. Haleigh won bars and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first on bars and eighth all-around.

She began competing level nine in 2009. She finished third at the Winter Invitational. Haleigh placed second all-around at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She won floor at the Golden State Classic. At the State Championships, she placed third on floor. She won floor at Regionals. At Westerns, she won floor and placed eleventh all-around. In 2010, Haleigh won the all-around at the Wine Country Classic, Battle in Seattle and Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She won floor at the Byers Invitational. At the State Championships, she only competed on beam and floor. Haleigh placed third all-around and first on beam at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed third on bars, second on floor and second all-around.
