In 2006, Sara competed level seven. She qualified for the Florida State Championships. Sara moved up to level eight in 2007. She finished third all-around at the Daytona Beach Open. At the State Championships, she won floor. Sara moved up to level nine in 2008. She placed fifth all-around at Easterns. In 2009, she competed level ten. She won the all-around at the Presidential Classic where she also finished second on floor. At States, Sara placed second all-around and third on vault. She finished fourth on vault at Regionals. Sara later qualified to junior pre-elite. She competed at the US Challenge. She won vault. She competed in elite compulsories at the 2010 Sand Dollar Invitational. In 2011, she finished first on bars and floor at the Presidential Classic. Sara won vault and placed second all-around at the Tim Rand Invitational.
