Shannen Kelley was born on October 21, 1993. She trained at Phoenix Gymnastics Academy before moving to Arizona Sunrays in 2004. She moved to Desert Devils after the 2009 season. She will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2003, Shannen competed level five. She competed at the State Championships. She continued competing level five in 2004. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the PGA Invitational. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2005. She won beam at the San Diego Classic. In 2006, Shannen competed level seven. She won beam at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and Hard Rock Invitational. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships.
Shannen moved up to level eight in 2007. She did not compete on vault or bars throughout the season. In 2008, she won beam at the Winter Sun Invitational and Hard Rock Invitational. Shannen won beam and floor at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed second on beam. Shannen moved up to level nine in 2009. She finished second all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. She won beam at the Sun Devil Classic. She finished first on bars and the all-around titles at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on floor and sixth all-around.
She competed level ten in 2010. Shannen finished second all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She won beam at the Classic Rock Invitational and Long Beach Open. She finished fourth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2011, Shannen finished third on floor at the Arizona Grand Invitational. She placed third on beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational. Shannen finished second on beam at both the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and Classic Rock Invitational. She won beam at the Malibu Coast Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed third all-around. She finished eleventh all-around at Regionals.
