Selma Lemezan was born on April 18, 1996. Her older sister, Dalila, is also a gymnast. Selma trains at LaFleur's Largo. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2005, Selma competed level five. She finished second on beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She competed level seven in 2007. She won beam at the Sand Dollar Invitational and floor at the Lightning City Classic. At the State Championships, Selma won floor. She competed level eight in 2008. She finished second on floor at the Tampa Bay Classic and fourth on vault at the Sand Dollar Invitational.

Selma continued competing level eight in 2009. She finished third on beam at the Hilton Head Island Invitational. Selma placed second on vault at the Gasparilla Classic. She finished second all-around at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed sixth all-around. Selma finished fourth all-around at Regionals.

She began competing level nine in 2010. She finished first on vault and third all-around at the Tampa Bay Classic. Selma finished third all-around at the Atlanta Centennial Classic. At the Buckeye Classic, she finished third on bars. Selma finished fourth on beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed tenth all-around.
