Sheridan Metcalf was born on October 29, 1993. She began gymnastics in 1996. She trains at Desert Devils. She has a sister named Melissa who is also a high level gymnast.
In 2003, Sheridan competed as a level four. She finished third in the all-around at the Desert Devils Classic. She moved up to level five for the fall season. She finished fourth in the all-around at the PGA Halloween Meet. She finished in the top ten at the Level 5 State Championships.
In 2006, Sheridan competed as a level ten for the first two meets. She then dropped down to level eight. She finished first in the all-around at the Flagstaff Winter Classic. She also won balance beam and vault. At the Level 8 State Championships, Sheridan finished second in the all-around. She also finished in the top three on vault and floor exercise. Her final meet of the season was Level 8 Regionals, where she finished second on vault and won the balance beam title. Sheridan placed seventh in the all-around.
She returned to level ten in 2007. Sheridan finished third in the all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She won the vault and uneven bars titles at the Crystal Cup. She traveled to Colorado and competed at the Pikes Peak Cup. Sheridan won a gold medal on floor exercise and finished third in the all-around. At the Level 10 States, Sheridan placed second in the all-around and won the vault title. Her next meet was the Level 10 Regionals, where she finished fourth in the all-around. She won a silver medal on floor exercise and a bronze medal on vault. Her final meet of the season was JO Nationals. She finished third on vault. In the all-around, she finished fourteenth.
Sheridan had a great 2008 season. She won vault and floor exercise at the Crystal Cup. At the Pikes Peak Cup, she won a silver medal in the all-around. At the Level 10 States, Sheridan won the all-around, vault and bars titles! Sheridan placed 3rd in the all-around as well as earned a gold medal on uneven bars at Junior Olympic Nationals. She was injured during the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Sheridan started her 2011 season at the Arizona Grand Invitational and finished third in the all-around and second on balance beam. She traveled to Florida for the Sand Dollar Invitational where she won a bronze medal on uneven bars. Sheridan placed sixtn in the all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational and Classic Rock Invitational. At the Winter Classic and Malibu Coast Challenge, she won the all-around title as well as first on floor exercise and second on uneven bars. At the Level 10 State Championships, she swept gold medals! Sheridan placed sixth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the Level 10 Regionals. There, she qualified to the JO Nationals and placed tenth in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars. Sheridan won the 2011 Level 10 Most Outstanding for the State of Arizona and JO Gymnast of the Year (State of AZ).
