Amanda Spinner was born on February 27, 1992. She will graduate from high school in 2010. She trained at Diablo Gymnastics until 2004 when she moved to Bay Aerials Gymnastics.
Amanda competed level five in 2000. She finished third on floor at the State Championships. In 2002, she had a strong finish at the State Championships as a level seven. She competed level eight in 2003. Amanda won a bronze medal on beam at the Roseville Invitational. She won a bronze medal on vault and a silver medal on beam at the Wine Country Classic. She finished second all-around at the Pegasus Classic. She won vault, beam and floor. At the San Diego Classic, she won a silver medal on vault. At States, she finished fourth on beam. She finished in the top ten all-around at Regionals.
In 2004, she moved up to level nine. She finished third all-around at the Roseville Invitational. She won floor. At the Flips USA Invitational, she finished third on floor and fourth on vault. Amanda won beam at the Far West Invitational. She placed second on beam and third on floor at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She finished third on beam at the Wine Country Classic. At the Regional Championships, Amanda finished sixth all-around! She won a silver medal on vault. She placed high enough to compete at Westerns.
Amanda repeated a second year of level nine in 2005 with her new gym. At the Flips USA Invitational, she won a bronze medal on vault. At her next meet, the Golden State Classic, she won bars, beam, and the all-around title. At the Hard Rock Invitational, Amanda won the all-around title in addition to the floor title. She continued her winning ways at the Wine Country Classic. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. She placed third on bars. At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she won beam floor and the all-around. At the State Championships, Amanda swept all five gold medals. Her score was the highest of all competitors, earning her a spot on the state team. At Regionals, Amanda won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Her final level nine meet was Westerns. She placed on every event. She finished second on beam and first on floor. Amanda also won the all-around title!
Her first year of level ten was in 2006. She began by winning beam and finishing second all-around at the Flips USA Invitational. At the San Diego Classic, she won beam, floor and the all-around. Amanda won the same events at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she won vault, bars and the all-around. At States, she finished first on beam. She placed second all-around despite a rough floor routine. Amanda finished second all-around at Regionals. She also finished second on beam and floor. This qualified her for the JO National Championships. At JO Nationals, she won beam.
She began her 2007 season by winning floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed second all-around. At the Golden State Classic, she won beam and floor. She won floor and the all-around at the Gold Country Classic. At the Byers Sacramento Invitational, she finished second all-around. Amanda won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. She finished second on vault. Amanda had the highest score of all competitors. She earned a spot on the state team. At Regionals, she finished fourth all-around. She won silver medals on bars and floor. Amanda finished second all-around, making the JO National Team. She placed on all four events.
Amanda began her 2008 season by winning five gold medals at the Wine Country Classic. At the Hard Rock Invitational, she won bars and the all-around title. She finished second on vault and floor. At the Harley Davidson Battle in Seattle, for the second time in 2008, she won all five gold medals. She followed that performance up by placing second all-around at the Golden State Classic. She won beam. At States, she won beam, floor and the all-around. She was again named to the Norcal State Team. Amanda won her first level ten regional all-around title. She finished second on vault, bars and floor and first on beam.
Her first meet of 2009 was the Delta Classic. She finished second all-around. She won vault and bars. At the Lady Luck Invitational, she won bars and beam. She again placed second all-around. At the San Diego Classic, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around. Her next meet was the Valentine Invitational. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. At the Spirit of the Flame Challenge, she won vault, floor and the all-around. At the Golden State Classic, she placed second all-around. She won bars. At the State Championships, Amanda won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. She finished second on bars. She made the Norcal State Team. Unfortunately, Amanda missed Regionals due to a minor elbow injury.
