Stacy Sprando was born in Sauvie Island, Oregon on July 12, 1985. She is the daughter of Dave and Teri. She trained at Metro Gymnastics (1999-2003) and Oregon Gymnastics Academy during her club career. She competed for Stanford for three years. She retired her senior year due to injuries.
In 1998, she qualified to the JO National Championships with Oregon Gymnastics Academy. In 1999 she competed as a junior national elite. Stacy finished tenth at the 1999 US Challenge. Her next meet was the National Gymnastics Festival. She finished in fifth place. She competed her second year as a junior national elite in 2000. She finished in sixth at the US Challenge. Stacy improved over last year's National GymFest to sixth place in 2000 at the National Gymnastics Festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the 2003 JO Nationals Stacy finished fifth all-around and won bars.
Stacy went to Stanford in the fall of 2003. She was a significant contributor as a freshman at Stanford. She competed on beam and bars at the NCAA Championships. Stacy contributed to the bars and beam scores throughout the season. As a sophomore, she was a strong beam and bar worker for the team. She also competed on floor. She competed one bar routine in 2006. She retired after the 2006 season.
