In 2005, Tate competed level eight. She placed fourth on bars and tenth all-around at Regionals. She moved up to level nine in 2006. She won bars at the Hard Rock Invitational. She finished in the top fifteen at both the State and Regional Championships. At Westerns, she placed sixth on vault, fifth on bars, tenth on beam and seventh all-around. Tate moved up to level ten in 2007. She finished third on bars at the Lady Luck Invitational. She competed at JO Nationals where she placed ninth on beam. Tate participated in elite qualifiers. In 2008, Tate finished first on bars and third all-around at the CGA Coaches Spectacular. She placed third on beam and fifth all-around at Regionals. She placed ninth on bars at JO Nationals. She finished 23rd all-around.
