Shannon St. Jean was born on April 15, 1998. She trains at Gymnastics Revolution. She will graduate from high school in 2016.

In the fall of 2005, Shannon competed level four. She competed level five in 2007. She qualified to National TOPs Testing. In 2008, she competed level six. Shannon participated in her second National TOPs Testing. In 2009, Shannon competed level eight. She placed third on beam at the Parkette Invitational. She competed at Regionals, finishing sixth on floor. She finished in the top fifteen all-around.

Shannon began competing level nine in 2010. She did not compete on bars for most of the season. In December, she won the all-around title at the Rhode Island Classic. She placed fourth on bars at the 2011 Starlight Invitational. She won the all-around title at the State Championships.
