Maddy Stover was born on January 4, 1996. She trained at SCATS Gymnastics in Huntington Beach, California. She moved to Wildfire Gymnastics in the summer of 2009. She now trains under Tom Wakeling, Rhonda Schwandt and Stephanie Calvert. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

In 2004, she competed as a level six. She competed at the State Championships. Maddy moved up to level seven in 2006. She won the Spirals Invitational, Long Beach Open and Surf City Classic. At States, she also won the all-around title. Maddy moved up to level eight in 2007. She had a very successful season. She won the California Classic, Diamond Elite Top Flight Invitational and the Surf City Classic. At States, she won the all-around, bars and beam titles! She won the same three events at Regionals. Maddy competed as a hopes elite at the US Challenge.

Maddy competed level nine in 2008. At the Surf City Classic, she finished second on vault and floor. She only competed those two events. At the California Classic, she won vault and the all-around. She placed second on beam. She won floor at the Top Flight Invite. She did not compete at States or Regionals. She continued competing level nine in 2009. She finished second on beam and third on floor at the Heart of a Champion Invitational. At the Ready to Peak Invitational, she won floor and the all-around. She won a bronze medal on floor at States. Maddy placed eighth all-around at Regionals. She won a bronze medal on beam.

She began competing level ten in 2010. She won the all-around title at the San Diego Classic. Maddy placed first on vault, beam and the all-around at the Gliders Invitational. She won the same three titles at the Return of the Titans. At the State Championships, she placed fourth all-around. She finished third on beam and floor. Maddy won the all-around title at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she finished 25th all-around. In 2011, Maddy finished second all-around at the Gliders Invitational. She won beam and the all-around at the California Classic. At the Malibu Coast Challenge, Maddy placed first on bars, beam and the all-around. She also won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won the all-around title. Maddy placed first on beam at JO Nationals! She also placed tenth on bars and sixth all-around.
