Sachi Sugiyama was born on May 5, 1993. She trained at Gymnastics Plus in 2005. She then spent one year at Texas Tumblers. Since the summer of 2006, Sachi has trained at Top Flight Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2011.
In 2005, Sachi competed level seven. She won a silver medal on uneven bars at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2006. Sachi placed fifth on vault at Regionals. She continued competing level eight in 2007. She won vault and floor at the Rose City Classic. She placed second on beam and in the all-around at Regionals. Sachi competed level nine in 2008. She finished first on bars and in the all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she placed first on vault and in the all-around! She also finished third on floor.
Sachi began competing level ten in 2009. She won the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. She won floor and the all-around at the Rose City Classic. At the State Championships, Sachi placed second on vault and in the all-around. She finished second on vault at Regionals. At JO Nationals, Sachi finished fifth on floor and sixth on floor. In 2010, Sachi won the vault and the all-around at the Winter Cup Challenge. She then suffered an ankle injury that forced her to miss most of the season. She returned on uneven bars only at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault. Sachi finished sixth all-around at JO Nationals.
