Samantha West was born on December 3, 1993. Her sister, Amanda is also a gymnast. Samantha trained at Gymnastics Unlimited in Washington through the 2004 season. She then moved to Auburn Gymnastics Center. Samantha will graduate from high school in 2012.
In 2003, Samantha competed level five. She finished third all-around at the Rainier Cup. She won floor at the Mystery Classic. She competed level seven in 2004. She won floor at the Rainier Cup. Samantha continued competing level seven in 2005. She finished second on vault at the Surf City Classic. She won vault and floor at the State Championships. She placed third all-around. Samantha moved up to level eight in 2006. She finished third on vault at the Flips USA Invitational. She finished second on floor at the All American Invitational. Samantha won floor and the all-around at the Vegas Vacation meet. She competed at Regionals.
Samantha continued competing level eight in 2007. She finished fourth all-around at Regionals. In 2009, Samantha placed third on floor at the Byers Invitational. She finished second on floor at the State Championships. She moved up to level nine in 2010. She won beam and floor at the National Judges Cup. She finished fourth all-around at the All American Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed second on floor and fourth all-around. Samantha finished 13th all-around and fifth on floor at Westerns.
She continued competing level nine in 2011. Samantha finished first all-around at the Battle in Seattle. She placed third on floor at the Byers Invitational. At the March Madness meet, Samantha won floor. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships. Samantha placed tenth on floor at Westerns. She finished 18th all-around.
