Meredith Sylvia was born on October 6, 1998. She trained at Tataru's Gymnastics in Knoxville Tennessee until the 2009 season. After a family move to Allentown Pennsylvania, she began training at Parkettes National Gymnastics Training Center. Meredith is cyber-schooled, enjoys art and plays the piano in her spare time.
She began competing level four in the fall of 2005. She finished first on beam and the all-around at the Music City Invitational. She won vault at the You're The One Invitational. She won floor and finished second all-around at the State Championships. The next year, Meredith began competing level five. She won beam, floor and the all-around at the Music City Invitational. She finished second all-around at the State Championships. In February, she won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. Meredith competed level six in the fall. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Intrigue Invitational. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships in November of 2007.
In 2009, Meredith competed level seven. She won bars, beam and the all-around at the Maryland Classic. At the Parkette Invitational, she won vault, beam and floor. The next day, she competed level eight, winning beam and floor. Meredith won beam and the all-around at the Excalibur Cup as a level seven. She finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at Sectionals. She competed at the State Championships as a level seven, she won vault and beam. She finished third all-around. In the fall, she qualified for the National TOPs Testing.
In 2010, Meredith competed level nine. She placed fourth all-around at the Maryland Classic. At the Parkette Invitational, she won beam and placed second all-around. The next day, she competed level ten. Meredith won beam. At the Fiesta Bowl Invitational, she placed second on floor. She finished fourth all-around at the Excalibur Cup. In March, Meredith competed at the Gymnix International in Canada. She returned to level nine for the rest of the season. She finished third all-around and first on beam at the Pink Invitational. At the State Championships, she won floor and the all-around. In July, Meredith tested hopes elite at the Elite Qualifier.
Meredith finished first on beam and third all-around at the 2011 Maryland Classic. She finished second all-around at the Parkette Invitational. At the State Championships, Meredith won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. At Regionals, she placed first on beam and eighth all-around. Meredith qualified to junior international elite at the May Developmental Elite Camp. At the American Classic, she placed second on beam and floor. She finished fourth all-around, qualifying for the Visa Championships.
