Christine Nicole Tedmon was born on August 14, 1983 in Sacramento, California. She is the daughter of Scott and Teri. Scott went to UCLA. She has one younger sister, Rachel, and a younger brother, Daniel. She graduated from Victory Christian High School. Christie competed for Pozsar's Gymnastics in Sacramento during her club years. Her coaches were Geza Pozsar, Tami Ross and Sam Shaw.
In 1996, Christie won vault at the Regional Championships. At the Regional Championships in 1997 she won vault and floor. She was also second all-around. Christie tested elite in 1998 and qualified for the American Classic. She could not compete because of an injury. In 2000 she returned to level 10. At Regionals she placed third all-around, third on vault, second on beam, fourth on floor and fifth on bars.
Christie had a very successful 2001 season. She placed first all-around, beam and floor at the State Championships. Christie also took third on bars and vault. At the Regional Championships she placed first on all-around and beam, second on floor, fourth on vault and fifth on bars. At the Junior Olympic National Championships she placed fourth in the all-around and floor. By placing fourth in the all-around she qualified for the Junior Olympic National Team!
In the fall of 2001 Christie began college at UCLA. Her 2002 season went everything but perfert. At her first college meet she broke four metatarsals in her left foot. She red shirted the season. The high point of 2002 was being a NACGC Scholastic All-American. In 2003 she was an NACGC Scholastic All-American once again. She also was an honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic selection. Competition wise she competed in five meets with two all-around performances. In 2004 Christie was once again an NACGC Scholastic All-American. She was also a Second-team Pac-10 All-Academic selection. In 2005, she competed in the all-around once. She vaulted eight times. She competed on beam thirteen times and floor ten times.
