Taylor Harrison was born on November 10, 1995. Her mother, Tami Elliott-Harrison, is a former Fullerton standout and 1984 Olympic Trials competitor. Taylor trained at World Class Gymnastics in Virginia. She graduated from high school in 2014.

In 2004, Taylor competed level seven. She won five gold medals at the State Championships. She moved up to level eight in 2005. She won the all-around title at the State Championships. Taylor continued competing level eight in 2006. She finished third on vault at the Maryland Classic. She won vault at the Hard Rock Invitational. She finished fifth at the State Championships. Taylor moved up to level nine in 2007. She finished third all-around at the State Championships.

Taylor continued competing level nine in 2008. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the AOGC Invitational. Unfortunately, she hurt herself on her first event at the State Championships. In 2009, Taylor won vault, floor and the all-around at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She won vault and floor at the Parkette Invitational. She won bars and the Metroplex Challenge. Taylor won bars, floor and the all-around at the Palm Beach Invitational. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. Taylor won floor at Easterns! She also placed second on vault, beam, and the all-around and fourth on bars.

She began competing level ten in 2010. She won floor at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She won the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. Taylor placed second on floor at both the Cancun Classic and Excalibur Cup. She won all five gold medals at the Derby Classic. She finished first on vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, Taylor finished first on floor and third all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing third all-around! She also placed tenth on vault, ninth on beam and sixth on floor. In 2011, Taylor won vault, floor and the all-around at the New Year Opener. She placed second all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. She finished third all-around at the Texas Prime meet. Taylor won vault and floor at the Excalibur Cup. She won vault at the Tim Rand Invitational. At the State Championships, Taylor placed first on vault and second all-around. She also placed first on vault and second all-around at Regionals. She competed at JO Nationals.

In 2012, Taylor won vault and placed second all-around at both the World Classic Invitational and Atlanta Crown Invitational. She won bars and the all-around at the Excalibur Cup. Taylor placed third all-around and first on vault at the Tim Rand Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault and floor. Taylor won floor at Regionals. She placed third on beam and seventh on floor at JO Nationals. She finished 23rd all-around. Taylor finished first on vault and third all-around at the 2013 Circle of Stars meet. She won bars, floor and the all-around at the World Class Invitational. Taylor placed first on floor and second all-around at both the IGI Chicago Style and Excalibur Cup. She placed third all-around at the Capital Cup. She won beam and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won bars and finished fourth all-around. Taylor placed ninth on vault and beam at JO Nationals. She finished 15th all-around. During the 2013-2014 season, Taylor won all five gold medals at the Commonwealth Cup. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She won all five gold medals at the World Class Invitational. She won floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. She won vault and the all-around at the Manhattan Classic. Taylor won vault, floor and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. She placed first on vault at the Magical Classic. She won bars and beam at the Capital Cup. She placed first on vault and second all-around at the State Championships. She finished first on vault and fifth all-around at Regionals. Taylor won the all-around at JO Nationals! She also placed second on vault, second on bars, second on beam and tenth on floor.
