Taylor Lawson was born on November 12, 1999. Her older sister, Brooke was also a gymnast. Taylor trains at Parkettes.
In 2008, Taylor competed level five. She won bars and beam at the State Championships. She finished second all-around. Taylor moved up to level six in the fall. She won vault, bars, and floor at the Trick'n'Treat Invitational. She then moved up to level seven. Taylor finished third on beam at the Maryland Classic in 2009. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Parkette Invitational. She made the National TOPs "B" Team later that year. Taylor represented Pennsylvania at the National Judges Cup in 2010.
Taylor competed level eight in 2010. She finished second all-around at the Brestyan Invitational. She competed as a level nine in several meets, finishing fifth all-around at the Excalibur Cup. As a level eight, Taylor finished third on vault at the State Championships. She placed fourth all-around at Regionals. She made the National TOPs "B" Team. Taylor competed level nine in 2011. She finished first on floor and the all-around at the Maryland Classic. At the Parkette Invitational, she won bars, floor and the all-around. Taylor finished third all-around at the Magical Classic. At the State Championships, she finished fourth all-around. She placed third all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, she finished ninth all-around.
