Claire Torgerson was born on June 17, 1993. She trained at Tricks Gymnastics until the spring of 2003. She then moved to Byers Roseville. She graduated from high school in 2011.

In 2002, Claire competed level five. She finished first on vault and bars at the Compulsory Classic. She competed at the State Championships. She moved up to level six in 2003. She finished second on vault at the State Championships. Claire immediately began competing level seven in 2004. She won vault at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the State Championships, she placed in the top ten. Claire competed level eight in 2005. She placed third on vault at the San Diego Classic and Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She finished in the top ten at the State Championships.

Claire moved up to level nine in 2006. She finished second on bars at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. She placed sixth all-around at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2007, Claire finished first on vault at the International Cup and Flips USA Invitational. She placed second all-around at the MEGA Invite. Claire won floor at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. At the Roseville Invite, she won vault. Claire placed first on vault and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed third on floor. Claire competed at JO Nationals.

Claire began competing level ten in 2008. She finished second on floor at the Roseville Invitational. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2009, Claire placed frst on beam at the Roseville Invitational. She finished first on vault at the Winter Invitational. At the Black Tie Invitational, she finished first on bars and third all-around. Claire own vault at the State Championships. She competed at Regionals. In 2010, Claire finished third all-around at the Roseville Invitational. She won vault and floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Winter Invitational, she won vault, beam and the all-around. Claire won vault at the Return of the Titans meet. At Regionals, she placed sixth all-around. Claire finished 24th all-around at JO Nationals. In 2011, Claire won vault and bars at the Red Heart 10.0 meet. She placed first on vault, beam and the all-around at the Winter Invitational. Claire placed second on bars at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge and Golden State Classic. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals.
