Dominiquea Trotter was born on April 22, 1996. She trained at Rebound Gymnastics until the spring of 2011. She then moved to Monmouth. She will graduate from high school in 2014.

Dominiquea competed level four in 2004. She won beam at the Parkette Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished second on beam and in the all-around. In the fall, she made the Diamond National TOPs Team. In 2006, Dominiquea competed level six and seven. She won the all-around at the Rutgers Classic. She competed at the State Championships in 2007. She then moved up to level eight. She won floor and bars at the Friendship Classic. She finished second all-around. In November, Dominiquea competed level nine.

In 2009, Dominiquea competed level ten. She won the Parkette Invitational. At the Level 10 State Championships, she finished in the top ten. Dominiquea qualified for the US Challenge as a junior pre-elite. Dominiquea missed most of 2010 season due to an injury. In June, she traveled to Florida for the Bieger's Elite Qualifier, where she finished 12th overall. She concluded her 2010 season at the Texas National Elite Qualifier.
