Kyra Trowbridge was born on September 14, 1994. She trains at Paragon Gymnastics in Virginia.

In 2003, Kyra competed level five. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the Sweetheart Classic. She moved up to level six in 2004. She finished second all-around and third on bars at Sectionals. At States, she placed second all-around and second on bars. Kyra jumped up to level eight for the 2005 season. She finished second on floor at the State Championships. In 2006, Kyra competed level nine. She won bars and placed third all-around at the AOGC Invitational. At the Level 9 Eastern Championships, she finished fifth on vault and ninth on beam. She finished 17th all-around. Following the level nine season, she qualified to hopes elite. She placed 17th overall out of 44 athletes.

Kyra began competing level ten in 2007. She won beam and placed second all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault, floor and the all-around. She continued competing level ten in 2008. She had solid performances at the Maryland Classic, IGI Chicago Style and Regional Championships. Her best season yet was in 2009. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Maryland Classic. She won the same three titles at the Star Struck Invitational. At the City of Light Invitational, she won vault, beam, floor and the all-around. Kyra finished second all-around at the State Championships. She also placed second on vault. At Regionals, she won the all-around, vault and balance beam. She ended her season at JO Nationals. She placed second all-around, earning a spot on the JO National Team! She also finished third on floor and fourth on beam. Her performance also earned her a spot on the Region 7 All-Star Team.

She missed most of the 2010 season while recovering from an injury. She returned in March, placing third on bars at the Long Island Classic. She placed fourth all-around and first on beam at the State Championships. Kyra won floor at Regionals. She finished fourth all-around. She finished 22nd all-around at JO Nationals.
