Madison Rae Turchin was born on July 12, 1994 in Orlando, Florida to Gary and Lisa. She is second of four children in her family. She has two sisters (Jordan & Chandler) and a brother (Dakota). She began gymnastics at a young age of three at Brandy Johnson's Gymnastics and has been there ever since! She is coached by Brandy Johnson-Scharpf who was part of the 1988 Olympic Team. She was the 1989 USA National Champion and won a silver medal at the 1989 World Championships.
In 2002, Madison won the all-around title at the Carolina Classic as a level seven. Madison moved up to level nine in 2003 where she qualified to Level 9 Regionals. She repeated level nine in 2004 and finished third all-around at Level 9 Regionals. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Championships where she earned a bronze medal in all-around. Madison moved up to level ten in 2005. She finished fourth all-around at Level 10 States and qualified to Level 9 Regionals where she placed third all-around. Madison qualified to her first Junior Olympic Nationals that was held in California. She placed fifteen all-around at the Junior Olympic Nationals.
Madison and a few of her teammates decided that it was time to move up to the highest level in gymnastics, elite. After a few open invitationals in 2006, Madison qualified as a junior international elite. Madison qualified directly to the US National Championships from the National Training Camp. Madison and her teammates traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for the US Classic. Even though Madison already qualified, she used it as practice for the upcoming US Nationals. She placed impressive 20th all-around in a very tough field of competitors. At the US National Championships, she finished 23rd all-around. She retired after this meet.
