Selena Ung was born on October 4, 1996. She trains at Flips Gymnastics in Minnesota. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2008, Selena competed level seven. She finished third on vault at the IGI Chicago Style. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She finished third on bars at the Chow's Rising Stars Challenge. At the Northern Lights Classic, she placed second on bars. Selena finished third on beam and fifth all-around at Regionals. She began competing level nine in 2010. She finished in the top twenty at the State Championships. She placed fourth on beam and floor at Regionals. She finished seventh all-around.

Selena continued competing level nine in 2011. She finished third on bars at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Winter Challenge, she won bars. Selena won vault at the IGI Chicago Style. She won vault and beam at the Rising Stars Invitational. At the State Championships, Selena won vault and beam. She finished second all-around. She placed second all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, Selena won vault. She also placed sixth on floor and finished twelfth all-around.
