Crystal Valmonte was born on April 12, 1997. She trained at Gymnastics Express in Washington until the 2007 season when she began competing for Gymnastics East.
In 2005, Crystal competed level five. She placed second all-around at the Mystery Classic. She won bars and beam. Crystal moved up to level six in 2006. She placed third all-around at the AOGC Invitational. She won bronze medals on vault, bars and beam. At the Pajama Classic, she won bars. Crystal finished second all-around and first on floor at the Blooms and Blossoms meet. At the Harbor Classic, she won bars, floor and the all-around. With her new gym in 2007, Crystal competed level seven. She had strong finished at the Flips USA Invitational, Seattle Open and Hard Rock Invitational. She earned a silver medal on beam at the Blooms and Blossoms meet. Crystal ended her season by placing fourth on bars at the State Championships.
She competed level eight in 2008. She placed second on beam at the Seattle Open. At the Battle in Seattle meet, she finished third on bars and beam. At States, she qualified for Regionals. Crystal ended her season with a top fifteen all-around performance at Regionals. She continued competing level eight in 2009. She won a bronze medal in the all-around at the Gymnastics in Paradise meet. She finished fourth on beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she placed tenth all-around.
Crystal competed level nine in 2010. She finished fourth all-around at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She also competed at the Battle in Seattle and Return of the Titans. At the State Championships, she earned a bronze medal on beam. Crystal finished eighth all-around. She placed sixth all-around at Regionals, qualifying for Westerns.
