Alexis Vasquez was born on December 28, 1999. She began competing for West Coast Elite Gymnastics in 2007. She trained at Gym-Max in 2009 before returning to WCEG. She moved to Chow's Gymnastics in the summer of 2011.

In 2007, Alexis competed level four. She won floor at the Meet at Mavericks. She finished third all-around at the 3rd Prelim. At East Sectionals, Alexis finished third all-around. She placed fifth all-around at the State Championships. Alexis was a member of the National TOPs Diamond Team. In 2008, Alexis competed level six. She finished second all-around at the California Classic. Alexis was also a member of the National Jumpstart Team.

Alexis competed level seven in 2009 with Gym-Max. She finished first on floor and the all-around at the Long Beach Open. She finished fourth all-around at the Malibu Coast Challenge. At the State Championships, Alexis won vault and beam. She finished second all-around. Alexis competed level eight in 2010. She finished first on bars and floor at the Lady Luck Invitational. She placed second all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the California Classic, she won vault, beam and the all-around. At the Malibu Coast Challenge, she won beam and the all-around. Alexis won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished first on bars and the all-around.

Alexis moved up to level nine in 2011. She finished first on beam and floor at the San Diego Classic. She placed third all-around at the WOGA Classic. She won vault, beam, floor and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won beam.
