Kiersten Wang was born on October 2, 1992. She trained at Omega Gymnastics in North Carolina. She moved to Colorado Aerials in 2003. She will graduate high school in 2011.
In 1999, Kiersten competed level four. She finished fourth on vault and in the all-around at the Turkey Tumble. She placed second on beam and third on floor. At the Cabarrus County Fall Frolic she finished second on vault. Kiersten moved up to level six in 2000. She won floor and third all-around at the Reach for the Stars meet. As a prep optional, she finished fifth all-around at the Beach Break. In 2002, she competed level seven. She won the all-around and balance beam at the St. Patrick's Invitational.
She moved up to level nine in 2004. She won floor and placed second on beam and in the all-around at the California Classic. She finished in the top ten all-around at Regionals. At Westerns, she finished tenth all-around and third on beam. Kiersten moved up to level ten in 2005. She swept the gold medals at the Surf City Classic. She won vault at the Spirit of the Flame Challenge. In 2006, she competed at the Pikes Peak Cup. She finished fourth on bars and fifth all-around at States. She placed sixth all-around at Regionals, qualifying for JO Nationals. She finished third on vault and second on floor at Regionals. Kiersten missed the 2007 season because of a broken leg.
In 2008, she returned to finish second on vault and in the all-around at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Harley Davidson meet, she finished third on vault and beam. She finished second on bars at Regionals. In 2009, Kiersten qualified to senior international elite at the Metroplex Challenge. She also competed as a level ten. She won vault and placed third all-around at the Great West Gym Fest. She finished third on vault and floor at the Rose City Classic. At Regionals, she won bars and the all-around. She finished sixth all-around at JO Nationals. She placed second on vault and fourth on bars. She scratched from the US Classic. In the fall, she committed to Florida.
Kiersten finished first on vault, bars, floor and the all-around at the 2010 Denver Winterfest Classic. She won the all-around title at the Metroplex Challenge. Kiersten finished second all-around at the AOGC Invitational. At the Pikes Peak Cup, she won bars, beam and the all-around. Kiersten placed third on vault at the Nastia Liukin Cup. At the State Championships, she won all five gold medals. Kiersten placed second all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she placed eighth on floor and 16th all-around.
