Nicole Wangler was born on December 23, 1994. Nicole's brother Ryan is a national team member. Nicole trained at Minnesota Valley Gymnastics Academy through the 2007 season. She then moved to TAGS Apple Valley. Nicole will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2007, Nicole competed level eight. She won the all-around at the Salto Invitational. She placed in the top ten at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault and placed sixth all-around. Nicole moved up to level nine in 2005. She won vault at the South Padre Extravaganza. At the State Championships, she placed third on vault. She finished fifth on vault at Westerns. Nicole continued competing level nine in 2009. She placed second all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational and Harley Davidson meet. At Regionals, she won vault and placed second all-around. Nicole won vault at Westerns. She finished eleventh all-around.

Nicole continued competing level nine in 2010. She won vault at the Tampa Bay Turners Invitational and GymQuarters Invitational. At the Northern Lights Invitational, she won vault and the all-around. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault, beam and the all-around. Nicole won vault, beam and the all-around at Westerns. She did not compete in 2011.
