Madison Ward was born on January 24, 1997 to Chad and Lori. She began power tumbling in first grade and artistic gymnastics at the age of nine. She trains at Idaho Elite Gymnastics under Sergei Popov. She will graduate from high school in 2015.

In 2008, Madison competed level seven. She moved up to level eight in 2009. She won vault and placed third all-around at the Gem State Invitational. At the Great West Gym Fest, she won vault and placed second all-around. Madison placed second all-around at the Bear Country Invitational. At Regionals, she finished second on vault.

Madison moved up to level nine in 2010. She won vault and placed third all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. At the Great West Gym Fest, she won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She finished third all-around at the State Championships where she also won vault. Madison placed first on vault, second on floor and fifth all-around at Regionals. She ended her season at Westerns where she placed third on vault.
