Jordyn Wieber was born on July, 12 in 1995. She is the daughter of Rita and David. Jordyn has three siblings, Lindsay, Ryan and Kyra. When she was 4 years old she began gymnastics at Geddart’s Twistars. Jordyn is a three-time TOP National Team Member and three-time National Team Member.
In 2003, Jordyn competed as a level five. She took home five gold medals at the Michigan Early States. The next year she moved up to level six. At the State Championships, she finished second all-around. Jordyn moved up to level seven in 2005. She won the Flytz Classic and Region Five Championships. Jordyn competed as a level nine and ten in 2006. She took fourth place at the level ten Regional Championships. At the JO Nationals, Jordyn placed second all-around.
Jordyn has been an active competitor in the USAG Tops/Elite Program. She was a Diamond member in 2002. Jordyn made the National TOPS Team in 2004 and 2005. In 2006, Jordyn placed second all-around and second on floor at JO Nationals. Jordyn also qualified to the international elite level in 2006 where she went on to compete at the 2006 Visa National Championships. Jordyn placed 9th on beam and 9th all-around, qualifying her to her first National Team.
In 2007, Jordyn again took a trip to the US National Championships where she picked up a bronze all-around and bars and, silver on vault and beam. Jordyn was quickly making her way into the elite scene by being selected to compete in the 2007 Jr. Pan American Games. She traveled all the way to Guatemala and earned a team gold, silver all-around, bars and beam gold and a bronze medal on floor.
In 2008, Jordyn traveled to Italy to compete in the Jesolo Grand Prix Competition where she earned a gold with her team and a gold in the all-around. Later, she was also named to the 2008 Pacific Rim Championships, but had to withdraw due to an ankle injury. Jordyn then went on to sweep the 2008 US Classic for all five gold-medals. Jordyn’s best competition yet, was the 2008 US Championships where she became the 2008 US Junior National Champion! Jordyn won gold medals on vault and floor. Jordyn was named the Region 5 Elite Gymnast of the Year. In November, Jordyn performed at the Tour of Gymnastics Superstars in Lansing and Detroit. Following this performance, she competed at the Top Gym meet in Belgium. She won the all-around. In the event finals, she won uneven bars and balance beam.
Jordyn started off 2009 by winning the Twistars Invitational. She won vault, bars, beam and the all-around. She next won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the Battle of the Champions meet. In February, Jordyn won the American Cup. She followed up this performance by winning the junior cup at the Gymnix International. During event finals, she won each event. She missed the rest of the elite season due to injury. In 2010, Jordan finished first on bars, floor and the all-around at the City of Jesolo meet. She won vault, bars and the all-around at the US Classic. She scratched midway through the US National Championships due to injury. In 2011, Jordyn placed first all-around at the American Cup. She finished second all-around at the City of Jesolo meet.
