Kara Witgen was born on November 7, 1994. She trains at Olympia. She will graduate from high school in 2013.

In 2007, Kara competed level five. She won the all-around title at the Wildfire Challenge. Kara moved up to level seven in 2008. She placed third on bars at the Wolverine Classic. In 2008, Kara competed level eight. She placed first on floor at the Tulip City Invitational. At the Buckeye Classic, Kara won vault, bars, floor and the all-around. She won floor at the Motown Madness meet. At the Wolverine Classic, she won the all-around title. At the State Championships, she placed first on vault, bars and floor. She finished second all-around. At Regionals, Kara placed first on vault and floor! She finished third all-around.

Kara began competing level nine in 2010. She finished third on bars at the Sand Dollar Invitational. She won vault, floor and the all-around at the Buckeye Classic. Kara won floor at the Motown Madness meet. At the State Championships, Kara placed in the top ten. She finished third all-around at Regionals. At Easterns, Kara placed sixth on vault, fifth on bars, first on floor and fifth all-around! After undergoing major surgery for a facial tumor, Kara battled back to gymnastics in time for the championship season in 2011. She finished first on floor and the all-around at the State Championships! Kara won the all-around title at Regionals. She competed at Easterns.
