Christina Wood was born on August 18, 1994. She trained at Flames Gymnastics until 2006. She then switched to American Elite Gymnastics. Christina moved to Carter's in 2007. In 2009, she switched to Desert Devils.

In 2004, she competed as a level six. She won a silver medal in the all-around at the Halloween Meet. At States, she won the bars, floor and all-around titles! A month later she began competing as a level seven. She won the Surf City Classic, Phoenix Open Challenge, Shamrock Invitational and Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At States, she won the all-around title! Christina was named the 2005 Arizona Most Improved Level Seven!

Christina won the US Coaches Cup as a level eight in 2006. She moved up to level nine after that meet. At the California Classic, she won a silver medal in the all-around. She finished second all-around and first on vault at States. She ended her season at Regionals. Christina moved up to level ten in 2007. At States, Christina finished third on vault and third on beam. She won Regionals! At JO Nationals, she finished third all-around. Christina won the American Challenge as a junior pre-elite. She also received her international score. Christina elected to compete as a pre-elite at the US Challenge. She finished third overall and second on vault and bars.

In 2008, she finished first on vault, bars, beam and the all-around at the Winter Sun Invitational. At States, she won vault. She placed second on bars, floor and the all-around. After struggling with injuries, she competed at the Hardrock Invitational in February of 2009. She won bars at the Great West Gymfest. At the State Championships, she won vault. She finished third on bars, floor and in the all-around. In 2010, Christina won bars and beam at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. She finished first on beam and second all-around at the State Championships, her first all-around meet of the season. She finished fifth all-around at Regionals. Christina placed in the top ten on floor at JO Nationals.
