Krissi Woodward was born on July 30, 1989 to Ross and Penni. She has two siblings, Pandora and Jacki. She began gymnastics at Anderson Gymnastics. She moved to DeVeau's Gymnastics in Indiana in 2000.
In 2003, Krissi began competing as a level ten. She qualified to Regionals. In 2004, she qualified to her first JO National Championships. Krissi won a bronze medal on bars at States in 2005. She finished third all-around at Regionals. Krissi ended her season by placing in the top ten on beam at JO Nationals.
Krissi continued competing as a level ten in 2006. She finished first all-around at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Indiana State Championships, Krissi won a silver medal on beam. In 2007, she finished fourth all-around at the Lady Luck Invitational. Krissi won a silver on floor at the IGI Chicago Style. She also won a silver on beam at Regionals. As a freshman at Ohio State, she competed on beam.
