Rachel York was born on August 30, 1992 and current resides in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She will graduate from Broken Arrow High School in 2011. Rachel began gymnastics in 1999 at age of seven. Her favorite event is vault. Rachel trained at Krafft Academy under Kristi Krafft until 2008. She moved to Jenks Gymnastics briefly. She returned to Krafft in the spring of 2010. Rachel moved to Dynamo later that year.

In 2004 at the Kurt Thomas Invitational, Rachel placed second in the all around with third place finishes on vault, balance beam, and floor exercise and a fourth place finish on the uneven bars. Following the Kurt Thomas Invitational, Rachel competed in the Oklahoma Level 10 State Championships where she qualified to the Level 10 Regionals. At the Level 10 Regionals, Rachel placed second in the all around and on balance beam. She also placed first on vault and fifth on floor. It qualified Rachel to the 2004 Junior Olympic Nationals. At the JO Nationals, Rachel placed nineteenth in the all around, sixteenth on vault, and fourteenth on floor exercise.

In 2005, Rachel competed at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Covina, California where she placed thirty-third in the all around, ninth on the vault, and fourteenth on the floor exercise. Shortly after the JO Nationals, Rachel tested to become an international elite at her gym. At the 2005 US Classic, Rachel’s first elite competition, she placed twenty-first in the all around. Rachel already qualified to the US Nationals earlier of the year. Rachel also placed fifth on vault and eleventh on the floor exercise. At the US Nationals Championships, Rachel missed making the team by placing twenty-fifth in the all around. She also placed tenth on the vault.

Rachel started off her year in 2006 by winning Kurt Thomas Invitational. She passed junior international elite on the first attempt and qualified to the VISA Championships from the National Training Camp. At the VISA Championships, she placed 22nd all-around, 4th on floor exercise and 12th on vault. Rachel decided to take a break for a few months in 2008. She later began training again at Jenks Gymnastics. In the fall of 2009, she won vault at the Trojan Classic. She placed third on floor at the Santa Invitational.

In 2010, she competed on three events at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational. At the State Championships, she won vault. She finished third on floor. She did not compete on bars. Rachel competed on vault and floor at Regionals. She finished second on vault.
