Reema Zakharia was born on December 23, 1991. She trained at Universal Gymnastics during her club career. She graduated from high school in 2010.
In 2004, Reema competed level nine. She finished in the top ten at Regionals. She won vault at Easterns. She placed tenth on beam and 12th all-around. In 2005, Reema won vault at the Pan American Club Championships. In 2006, she won the all-around title at the Universal Invitational. She finished second on floor at Regionals. Reema finished second on floor at the 2007 Lightning City Classic. She won beam at the State Championships. At Regionals, she won vault and floor.
Reema continued competing level ten in 2008. She won beam and floor at the Tampa Bay Classic. She finished first on vault, floor and the all-around at Regionals. At JO Nationals, she won vault and beam. In 2009, Reema finished third on vault and bars at the National Judges Cup. She placed second on vault at the Vegas Cup. Reema finished third on beam at the 2010 Universal Invitational. She placed third on vault at the Gasparilla Classic.
