Bailee Zumwalde was born on June 27, 1992. She began training at Twin City Twisters before the 2005 season. She graduated from high school in 2010.

In 2005, Bailee competed level nine. She placed third on floor at the Regional Championships. She was the alternate for Westerns. She continued competing level nine in 2006. She finished second all-around at the San Diego Classic. At the State Championships, she won floor. She placed first on floor and sixth all-around at Regionals, qualifying for Level 9 Westerns. Bailee moved up to level ten in 2007. She finished second on bars and floor at the Go For It Classic. At the State Championships, she placed third on vault and in the all-around. At Regionals, she won a silver medal on vault. Her fifth place all-around finish made JO Nationals. Bailee placed 32nd all-around.

Bailee continued competing level ten in 2008. She finished third all-around at the Hard Rock Invitational. At the State Championships, she placed second on vault, bars, floor and in the all-around She won bars at Regionals and finished fourth all-around. At JO Nationals, Bailee placed fourth all-around, making the JO National Team! In 2009, Bailee won bars, beam, floor and the all-around at the IGI Chicago Style. At the Northern Lights Classic, she placed second all-around. Bailee won floor at the Rising Stars Invitational. At Regionals, she won bars and placed second all-around. She ended her season at JO Nationals, placing ninth all-around and third on beam.

In 2010, Bailee won floor and the all-around at the Gopher Women's Invitational. At the Winter Challenge, she placed third all-around. Bailee placed third on floor at the IGI Chicago Style. She finished fourth all-around at the Long Beach Open. At the Northern Lights Classic, she finished third on bars and second on floor. She won bronze medals on bars and in the all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, Bailee placed second all-around. She won bars. She finished her club career at JO Nationals, placing second all-around. She also finished third on bars and second on floor.

As a freshman at Arkansas in 2011, Bailee competed on floor in every meet except for the SEC Championships. She was the only freshman at Arkansas to earn a spot on the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
