Melissa Zurawski was born on March 1, 1996. She trained at Elite Sports Complex through the 2006 season. She then moved to Balance Institute of Gymnastics. She will graduate from high school in 2014.
In 2005, Melissa competed level five. She moved up to level six in 2006. Melissa competed level seven in 2007. She had top ten all-around finishes at the For Love or Money meet and Midwest Open. She moved up to level nine in 2008. She competed at the Bravo Classic. In 2009, Melissa finished first all-around at the Midwest Open. She placed eleventh all-around at Regionals. Melissa finished second all-around and first on floor at the 2010 BIG Dream Classic. She finished first on bars and second all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, Melissa placed first on floor and second all-around. She placed sixth on bars and fifth on floor at Easterns. She finished eleventh all-around.
Melissa moved up to level ten in 2011. She won the all-around title at the IGI Chicago Style. At the BIG Dream Classic, she won bars and placed second all-around. She finished first on vault and third all-around at the State Championships. At Regionals, she finished seventh all-around. Melissa placed eighth on vault at JO Nationals. She finished 25th all-around.
